In 2011 Ferrari marked the 60th anniversary of its first F1 victory in the best possible way.
Fernando Alonso managed to seal the date by replicating 1951’s Jose Gonzales performance on the very same racetrack, Silverstone, during the British Grand Prix. To celebrate this remarkable event Maranello decided to create a special edition of the flagship 599 model.
With an engine derived from the hyper car Enzo a standard 599 GTB was capable of 0/100 km/h in just 3.5s, with a top speed of over 335 km/h. These results befit from the F1 derived state of the art traction control and the now legendary “manettino” feature on the steering wheel, managing throttle mapping and damper settings. Every each one of the only 40 60F1 edition cars included the HGTE package (Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione), a special signed plaque, special seats, finishes and a striking livery.
This example has only one owner and is finished in the coveted Alonso Scuderia Rosso livery, with exterior quoting the racing driver’s current f1 car and special seat belts. With barely 13.000kms covered from new and complete with all owners manuals books and service stamps, this rare 60 F1 would grace any special collection.
